Sprinklers

Pop-up sprinklers normally pop up from 4 (for turf) to 12 (for flower beds). Some of the smaller sprinklers can have different nozzles fitted to them. For distances around one to two metres sprays can be used, but larger than that gear driven nozzle are normal. These can have one jet or multiple jets.

For sprinklers that are watering flower beds, it is common to use micro sprinkler. These operate at low pressure and flow and can be easily moved around the beds as your plants grow, therefore offering a very versatile solution.

Drip irrigation should have pressure compensating emitters spaced evenly along the pipe. If a bed is being watered with drip line the drip line should be run every 30mm or 40mm across the beds. This can make it very hard to turn beds over.
